Glycolic Acid exfoliates, moisturises and helps smooth wrinkle appearance. How?
Exfoliation explained:
Exfoliation is a term that refers to removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells. By removing this outer dead skin cell layer it helps brighten and even skin tone.
Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid exfoliant derived from sugar cane and sugar beets. Alpha hydroxy acids have been used for decades in cosmeceuticals because of their proven effectiveness as exfoliates.
But there’s more that this Super Ingredient can do
In addition to its exfoliative properties, glycolic acid is also a hygroscopic molecule.
A hygroscopic what?
A hygroscopic molecule. This means it attracts water from the air and transfers it into the skin. Kind of like one of those little things you put in your cupboards to draw the moisture from the air so your shoes don’t go mouldy in that damp cupboard under the stairs. OK, not quite like that but you get the point. Used at low strengths it replenishes the skin making it an effective moisturiser.
Oh and did we mention?
It also helps support collagen production which helps smooth wrinkle appearance.
